Chintz was originally a woodblock, painted or calico that originated in Hyderabad India from 1600 to 1800 & imported in millions to England, France & the Dutch Republic. This print is textile designer Shakiras' ode to this great export that originated from her hometown Hyderabad & was populary used for clothing & furnishings.
This beautiful quilt is a great asset to any bedroom especially if you are a fan of this particular style & very economical as it double sided, thus permitting the user to vary up the look according to ones mood.
A beautiful floral chintz pattern on one side juxtaposed with the same floral pattern in black & vibrant colours on the opposite side. Our quilts & pillowcases are completely handmade with the prints being designed or sourced by textile designer Shakira in Melbourne & skilfully hand block printed & hand stitched by artisans in India.
