Black Tropical Garden Kantha Sham

Coordinating with Mustard Chinoiserie bedspread, this sham / cushion is beautifully handmade by Indian artisans & finished off with the age old "kantha" stitch. If you love  rustic colours with a love for chinoiserie patterning then this sham is your perfect fit.

"Kantha work" is a family skill (an embroidery) passed on from mother to daughter, originating from the north eastern states in India, wherein old saris, dhotis & old cloth pieces are stitched together using the running stitch to make light weight quilts or throws. Thus each piece is totally unique & this embroidery renders a slightly crinkled or wavy effect to the original patchwork of materials.

Loose threads & some imperfections are characteristic of this type of handmade product.
